D Magazine announced its 2018 “Best of Winners” recently, and East Dallas’ own Ross Love (pictured at right) topped the magazine’s list of top insurance agents for the third time.
“I’m honored. It’s wonderful to think that the community thinks so highly of our agency. To win the award for the third time is amazing,” Love said.
Love, a lifetime Dallas resident, feels a special connection to the area. “We’ve been in the same location overlooking SMU and Mockingbird Station for 17 years. To watch Dallas grow and the White Rock area blossom has been a real treat. When we first opened here, you could smell the bread baking at Mrs. Baird’s bakery across the street. DART had not yet arrived — there was no Mockingbird Station and the Dr Pepper plant was a block away.”
An avid cyclist, Love has completed the arduous Hotter’n Hell 100 in Wichita Falls, 13 consecutive times. He estimates that he has logged more than 15,000 miles cycling.
Love’s father, Ross Love, Jr., played football at SMU in the late ’50s, starring on teams that included former professional NFL stars Don Meredith and Forrest Gregg. His grandfather, Ross Love, Sr., played football for SMU 1926-28 and was inducted into the SMU Sports Hall of Fame in 1988.
