Each year, the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce hosts its prestigious Business of the Year Awards, an annual celebration recognizing outstanding businesses and leaders who elevate the economic strength, innovation and community spirit of East Dallas.

At this year’s awards event, held Nov. 18 at Waters Edge Winery and Bistro, the Chamber recognized Chuck Kobdish, D.C., chairman of the Greater East Dallas Chamber and owner of Backmenders Chiropractic, with the East Dallas Legacy Award for his long-term commitment, leadership and service to the East Dallas community.
“Chuck’s dedication to our Chamber and our local business landscape will leave a lasting mark on East Dallas,” Megan Dennen, CEO of the Chamber said. “He exemplifies the values of community stewardship and civic engagement, creating a legacy that reminds us what’s possible when community and commitment come together.”
In addition to the East Dallas Legacy award, four other companies were recognized at this event with specific awards:
• Summerhill Pools • Outdoor Living and owners Michelle and David Reed were awarded the Business Of The Year Award for being an outstanding East Dallas business with more than 30 years of service to the East Dallas community.
• It’s A Good Sign was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year based on the entrepreneurial achievements and noted individual successes of owners Greg and Gayle Lynch during the past year.
• East Dallas Vintage and owner Chelsea Callahan-Haag were awarded the Live Local Award in recognition of her overall community leadership.
• Waters Edge Winery & Bistro and owners Kate, Chris and Henry Vahdani were awarded the R.S. Munger Business Pioneer Award for their creative/artistic business concept.
