The fourth annual East Dallas Games (EDG) are almost here, bringing together residents from Dallas’ four oldest historic districts — Junius Heights, Munger Place, Peaks Addition and Swiss Avenue — for a day of friendly competition, community connection and charitable impact.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Buckner Park.

The event is on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Buckner Park. Designed as a fun, family-oriented gathering, the East Dallas Games offer a unique opportunity for neighbors to mingle, meet, and celebrate their shared community spirit.

Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including a potluck picnic, spirited field games, children’s activities, food drive and opportunities to connect with local churches, businesses and non-profits.

During the past three years, the East Dallas Games have fostered lively and good-natured competition among the participating neighborhoods, drawing enthusiastic participation from both competitors and spectators. Beyond the fun, the event has made a meaningful impact — collecting significant food donations to combat local hunger and raising many thousands of dollars through our generous sponsors. Proceeds have benefited Lipscomb Elementary, Long Middle School, Woodrow Wilson High School and the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club.

This year’s title sponsor, Jimmy’s Food Store, returns as a key supporter, continuing its strong tradition of advocacy for East Dallas neighborhoods and schools.

Residents, family members and friends are encouraged to attend and participate in the festivities. Guests are invited to bring a side dish or dessert to share, lace up their running shoes and join in the friendly competition. Organizers look forward to welcoming the community for an afternoon of fun, connection and giving back.
