Mockingbird Station partners with Bridge the Gap Chamber Players and the University Crossing Public Improvement District to bring music back to the station for its series “Music on Mockingbird.” Bridge the Gap brings free musical performances to the open-air amphitheater outside the Angelika Film Center during the next few months. The group consists of classically trained musicians from Southern Methodist University (SMU), such as string quartets, pianists, guitarists, percussionists, and singers. Grab your friends and family and head over to the station for these one-of-a-kind musical experiences.
Bridge the Gap Chamber Players is a semi-classical chamber music organization based in Dallas and comprised of young professional artists and arts administrators with a passion for sharing their love of music through free public classical concerts. Since its inception in 2011, the organization has made its mission to make music of all kinds more accessible to the community through performances of a variety of genres in non-traditional locations and education programs in the Dallas area.
Both Mockingbird Station and Bridge the Gap share the same passion of wanting to bring music to patrons as they shop and dine throughout the shopping center. “Music on Mockingbird” is Bridge the Gap’s most popular and beneficial program, and the station is thrilled to be bringing the series back, while also helping to make music of all kinds accessible to Dallasites.
Kick off your weekend with one of these free live performances, each starting at 11 a.m. every Saturday beginning in January and lasting through May of 2022.
These musical performances are the perfect outing for friends and family who are looking for a feel-good outdoor activity. After enjoying the show, guests can head over to the station’s many restaurants for a bite to eat, such as Urban Taco or Dallas Grilled Cheese Co., or check off your weekend shopping at West Elm, Loft or Sneaker Haven.
Mockingbird Station is located at 5321 E. Mockingbird Ln. in Dallas. Visit Bridge the Gap Chamber Players Facebook page for more information.
