Mr. Bob Ross, a CC Young Senior Living resident, has an amazing story. He is a 98-year-old, World War II Veteran fighter pilot, living independently and is sharp as a tack.

Following an electrical fire in his home in Temple, he moved to Dallas to live with his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dr. Richard Meyer, while his home was being repaired by Belfor Property Restoration. It was during this that the Belfor team came across many of Mr. Ross’s WWII memorabilia, including information about his experience with the dropping of the atomic bomb.

They were so moved by this they made a shadowbox for him and contacted ABC’s “Hearts of Heroes.” His story was found to be so interesting, the television team came to Dallas to interview him.

To honor Mr. Ross and his service, CC Young hosted a “watching party” with his children, other residents and staff.  — Kim Lehman
