For more than five decades, the Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour has invited visitors to step inside some of Dallas’ most beautiful historic homes. But beyond the architecture, the event has also become a lively neighborhood celebration filled with free live music throughout the weekend. At the 51st annual tour, guests visiting Dallas’ first historic district will be treated to an impressive lineup of performers, creating a festive soundtrack for the popular Mother’s Day weekend tradition.

While the entertainment adds a vibrant energy to the weekend, the historic homes remain the centerpiece of the tour. This year’s event features seven historic homes and one historic church, offering visitors a rare opportunity to explore the architecture and history of one of Dallas’ most iconic neighborhoods. Visitors can also enjoy a curated vendor market, complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides through the district, a family-friendly children’s area, a new walking tour with information on additional houses, refreshments, free shuttle buses, and more throughout the weekend.
New this year is the Mother’s Day Royal Tea, hosted inside the historic Aldredge House. The elegant tea will be presented by Darren McGrady, the former personal chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Princess Diana, and Princes William and Harry. Each tea reservation includes admission to the Home Tour.
The 51st Annual Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour takes place Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10 and continues to be one of Dallas’ most anticipated spring events. Tickets and additional information are available at SAHD.org.
