Chefs ready to compete

Fifteen celebrity chefs will bring their talent and heart to the table in support of the Promise of Peace Gardens (POP) as they compete for the most “out of this world” okra dish in Dallas. The POP Emanuel Community Garden is hosting this year’s Okrapalooza on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. POP gardens deliver Seed to Table education to more than 500 families annually. POP is dedicated to giving all community members access to high quality and nutrition-dense food. The event is at The Lot, 7530 E. Grand Ave. near White Rock Lake.
