On Saturday, Oct. 14, the annular solar eclipse will pass through North, Central and South America. The Dallas Arboretum’s Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, is planning several activities of this spectacular view of the partial solar eclipse. Limited tickets are available and must be purchased in advance. What is a partial eclipse? It is when the moon passes between the Sun and Earth but the Sun, Moon and Earth are not perfectly lined up, thus creating a crescent shape. The moon will begin to block the sun around 10:23 a.m., and the ring of fire will appear around 11:52 a.m. Solar Eclipse glasses can be added to your admission order. Advanced timed tickets are required for entry to the Arboretum by calling 214-515-6615 or visiting the website at dallasarboretum.org. — Juliette Coulter
