Event teaches children meaning of services

This year’s FaLaLa Lakewood raised more than $100,000 in donations, including toy donations, sponsorship dollars, cash donations and merchandise sales. This is a record-breaking moment for the neighborhood effort benefiting Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center’s Holiday of Hope.

What started as a small group of volunteers in 2020 has exploded into a large community effort to bring joy and hope to the children impacted by abuse.

All toys and funds will directly benefit DCAC’s Holiday of Hope program this month to provide holiday magic and gifts to their current clients. (Holiday of Hope goes until Dec. 20)

What started as a small group of volunteers in 2020 has exploded into a large community effort to bring joy and hope to the children impacted by abuse at DCAC. Now, more than 2,500 individuals come out to support this incredible giveback mission! Santa and his elves drove through Lakewood, collecting toys from front yards and loaded them up into Santa’s sleigh.

Everything was delivered and sorted by FaLaLa Lakewood volunteers the days following the event.

“We couldn’t be prouder of what we created with FaLaLa Lakewood,” co-founder Gable Roby said. “Each year, it sparks the spirit of giving in our neighborhood and teaches our children what it means to serve. Seeing this tradition continue in such passionate, capable hands is truly energizing.”

The efforts from this giveback moment will impact 1,600 children at DCAC. Next year’s FaLaLa Lakewood is set for December 5, 2026.
