Garden hosts celebration

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden celebrates the seventh annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14 and 15 to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month. The weekend long celebration, presented by Bank of America, features the highly anticipated Quinceañera Fashion Show, live entertainment, a vendor market and cooking demonstrations. Beginning September 14 at 10 a.m., the weekend celebration kicks off in Rosine Hall with the Quinceañera Fashion Show, where select participants showcase their beautiful and colorful Quinceañera dresses. Following the fashion show, a Mariachi Band performance begins at 11 a.m. in the Entry Plaza, followed by a special performance of Las Estrellas de Tejas ballet folklorico from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Rodriguez Gazebo. Entrance to the Hispanic Heritage Celebration is included for all paid garden guests. Tickets are available for purchase online at dallasarboretum.org. Admission is free on Sept.14-15 to the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden as part of Kelley Family Days offering access to the community. — Christie Eckler
