Free programming and activities return to Fair Park this holiday season!
Fair Park First, a non-profit organization created to oversee the management and stewardship of Fair Park, will host Fair Park Pop-Ups, a series of park days and movie nights on Fridays and Saturdays in November and December.
The first park day will be Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Leonhardt Lagoon.
Brian Luallen, executive director for Fair Park First, said, “As part of our commitment to animating and revitalizing this beautiful National Landmark, we are excited to invite the community to create new memories and help influence the long-term programming of the park.”
Every Saturday from Nov. 16-Dec. 14, the Leonhardt Lagoon will be transformed into a pop-up park filled with holiday-themed activities, including artmaking, story times, free play and drum circles. Local vendors will also have food available for purchase.
For an extra dose of holiday joy, stop by one of the crown jewels of Fair Park, the Band Shell, to watch a movie under the stars. Fair Park Pop-Ups: Movie Nights will feature two holiday favorites: “Elf” on Dec. 13 and “Home Alone” on Dec. 20. Each night will begin at 6 p.m. with pre-show activities, including musical performances, art activities and food trucks.
