Lakehill team makes strategic alliances

On Saturday, January 26, Lakehill’s First Tech Challenge Robotics team, the Bionicles, competed in their second qualifying tournament in Ferris, Texas. The Bionicles’ robot, Thok, performed beautifully. Throughout the first half of the day, the team found themselves in the top spot in the rankings, out of 27 teams. The Bionicles held that position until the fourth round, then regained ground in the last match to end up in the fourth spot overall. The team plans on adding more functionality to Thok, including object recognition and better control of minerals. The Bionicles, including coaches Jennifer Herta and Mitch Musselman, would like to thank the entire community for their continued support. — Gigi Ekstrom
