Lily pond needs funding

The Stone Tables Pavilion and Picnic Area at White Rock Lake serves tens of thousands of Dallas residents a year. In 2012, the Board of Directors of the White Rock Lake Conservancy agreed to take on the renovation and restoration of the historic area for the Parks and Recreation Department. Volunteer architects and planners developed a renovation plan and worked with the City of Dallas to fulfill this goal. The White Rock Lake Conservancy raised private donations and paid the City of Dallas to cover the entire cost of the renovation. Construction began September 21 for the restoration of the stone tables and the surrounding grounds with new grills, stone trash enclosures and improved drainage. Construction on the restroom phase begins in October. Both should be complete in the spring of 2021. The final phase of the project, the restored lily pond, is in need of funds.
