The Stone Tables at White Rock Lake, the City of Dallas’ first picnic pavilion and picnic grounds, were recently restored to match their original design using as much original material as possible. A ribbon-cutting was held on Saturday, Aug. 30 to celebrate the completion of the project. Council member Paula Blackmon (above in black top) joined leaders from White Rock Conservancy for the event. The border and surface area were developed with a drainage system to help lessen the flooding in the picnic and pavilion area. Two new grills with stone enclosures were built and installed as well as new stone trash can enclosures. New downcast lights replaced the flood lights on the pavilion. — From Staff Reports
