Plungers take cold dive for good cause

The Fraternal Order of Eagles’ Annual Polar Plunge is on February 19 at 2 p.m. All proceeds will benefit The Dream2Walk Foundation. Participants who choose to jump in the cold water donate $10 to the cause. Plungers will receive a goodie bag filled with awesome stuff and three free beers from Deep Ellum Brewery. Raffles, merchandise, a silent auction and 50/50 split the pot will also be available with live music in the social hall for extra entertainment. Doors open at noon, and participants will start jumping in the pool at 2 p.m. This event benefits the Order’s spinal cord injury fund and will directly go to The Dream2Walk Foundation based in Plano, Texas. Dream2Walk provides financial assistance for patients to go to approved rehabilitation facilities and also helps to provide at-home equipment to help with muscle stimulation.
