For the ninth year in a row, White Rock Rowing Club is hosting the Texas Special Olympics kayaking competition. White Rock Rowing contributes coaches to the cause and dedicates the day to making this event a success.

The mission of the Texas Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop themselves.

This competition is one of many events taking place through White Rock Rowing. From middle and high school programs, as well as adult rowing and even adaptive programs, White Rock Rowing is available to everyone in the community.

The event will take place on two days, Sunday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 7 from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The City of Dallas owns the White Rock Boathouse facilities, which are located on the southwest shore of White Rock Lake in Dallas.
