Sponsors make Spruce-up happen

Students from Catholic Campus Ministry at SMU braved the winter weather in February for their monthly Service Saturday to help with the White Rock Lake Shoreline Spruce Up. They were surprised by what they found, especially the amount of Styrofoam! They look forward to bringing more friends next time to join the clean-up effort.

The For the Love of the Lake (FTLOTL) office will be open Saturday, March 12 at 8 a.m. for a drive-thru only (do not get out of your vehicle) to pick up supplies for the Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce-Up event. The offices are located at 1152 N. Buckner Blvd. Suite #123 in Dallas. Volunteers will put the supplies needed in either the trunk or back of vehicles to maintain social distancing to the extent possible. The trash grabbers (litter sticks) will be sanitized before being placed in each vehicle. Volunteers should always wear gloves and return trash grabbers no later than noon. FTLOTL volunteers express gratitude for sponsors: Casa Linda Albertsons, Arboretum Village Tom Thumb, Lakewood Ace Hardware, The Home Depot #550 and C.C. Young for providing supplies for volunteers. — From Staff Reports
