More than 100 guests joined in to celebrate this achievement Thursday, May 15, at the Annual Appreciation Event, where the revitalized Winfrey Point was showcased. The gathering was filled with community spirit, and appreciation for the collective effort to enhance this beloved public space. Dr. Theresa Daniel, Dallas County Commissioner, who spoke at the event, acknowledged the successful project and those individuals and organizations that worked with WRLF to achieve this milestone at White Rock Lake Park. The White Rock East Garden Tour was thanked for their generous contribution to the next Phase of improvements, specifically the landscape portion of the renovation project. Stacie Collins, a board member, presented the WRLF with a $13,000 check. In addition, a special thank you was given to Chase the Chef for graciously providing delicious food and beverages, which added a delightful touch to the occasion and kept our attendees energized and engaged.

The refurbishment of Winfrey Point is part of the White Rock Lake Foundation’s ongoing mission to preserve and improve the natural beauty and recreational opportunities at White Rock Lake for all Dallas residents and visitors. This first phase has laid a strong foundation for future enhancements, ensuring the area remains a welcoming destination for families, nature enthusiasts and community events.

The White Rock Lake Foundation is hosting their annual Jewel of Dallas Gala, which will be held at Fair Park in the Hall of State on November 6. Last year’s gala raised more than $100,000, with a goal to exceed that amount at this year’s event.

The White Rock Lake Foundation invites the public to visit Winfrey Point and experience the improvements firsthand. Continued support is needed to move forward with future phases of the refurbishment.
